Liliana CardenasĀ - Academy Administrator

Liliana oversees the administrative and operations of the academy teams from: coordinating international/domestic travel, organizing through the league game schedule, handling registration requirements for coaches/players, and collaborating closely with other Academy clubs, Major League Soccer, and US Soccer Federation. She started with the organization in 2012 as a volunteer, followed by an internship in the youth programs department, and then went on to work part time at the Academy's training facility, before joining us full time in 2014. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Kinesiology from the University of Houston.

Joel Lockhart - Head Athletic Trainer

Joel joins the Houston Dynamo staff after two years with the Indiana Fire Juniors and Indiana Fire Academy. In addition to covering the Development Academy at Indiana Fire, Joel also has experience working with in the U.S. Soccer Youth National Team system. His experiences include working with the U16 Boys’ National Team and the U14 Girls’ National Team. Joel graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and completed a two year Graduate Assistantship at Illinois Wesleyan University while completing his Masters of Science Degree in Kinesiology and Recreation-Athletic Training at Illinois State University in 2017. While at Illinois Wesleyan University, he primarily worked as the Athletic Trainer for their men's soccer, men's track & field and the 2016 NCAA Division III National Champion Women's Track & Field teams.

Juan-Carlos Martinez - Equipment Manager

Former Houston Dash Assistant Coach Juan-Carlos Martinez will be our Equipment Manager for the 2019-2020 season. Martinez a native of Alice, Texas began his coaching path in Corpus Christi, Texas. After moving to Houston he became the Men’s Club Head Coach at his alma mater the University of Houston for 3 years taking the team to 2 conference championships. He entered into the Houston Dynamo Youth Programs before becoming an assistant for the Houston Dash under Interim-Head Coach Omar Morales during the 2017 season. In 2019 he assisted Kenny Bundy with the Dynamo USL 2 team the B.V. Cavalry. Martinez currently holds a USSF ‘C’ License.

Michael Gazouleas - Video Coordinator

Michael Gazouleas has been assisting with filming the Houston Dynamo Academy games since 2016.  He was raised in Houston and played soccer at Fort Bend Clements High School, before earning a bachelor's degree in MIS from Texas Tech University in 2015.  He now serves as the Video Coordinator and academy scout as well as assisting the head video analyst with the Houston Dynamo first team.
