Hiro Suzuki, the 2017-18 Dynamo Academy Coach of the Year, will be this years U-15's head coach with the assistance of St. Thomas University men’s soccer head coach Ian Clerihew. Suzuki is a 1999 graduate of Yale University, where he captained the Bulldogs to the NCAA Sweet 16 as a senior. He began his coaching career at his alma mater in 2011 as an assistant coach on the men’s soccer team. Suzuki holds a USSF ‘A’ coaching license.

Coming from Shattuck-St. Mary’s School (MN) after 6 seasons, Alex Kuehl will serve as the U14 Head Coach, as well as scouting coordinator for the academy. Kuehl most recently served as the U15 Head Coach, as well as Director of Goalkeeping at Shattuck. During that time he helped guide multiple goalkeepers to youth national team call-ins, and assisted with three different teams that qualified for the national quarterfinals. Kuehl currently holds his USSF A-Youth License.

Daniel Roberts not only serves as the head coach of the Under-13 Dynamo Academy team, but will also hold the dual role of Head of Scouting & U23 assistant for the Academy. Roberts was a member of the first class of Dynamo Academy players in 2007, joining the Academy in its first months of existence before graduating from Clements High School. The Reading, England native played collegiately at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. He was drafted by the Dynamo in the 2012 MLS Draft and played for the Wilmington Hammerheads in the USL from 2012-14. Roberts holds USSF's A-Youth, National Youth, and Talent Scout Licenses.

Ian Clerihew is in his 3rd year with the Houston Dynamo Academy. He will assist the U15's with head coach Hiro Suzuki. In addition to his role with the Dynamo Ian is in his 3rd season as the head coach of the men's soccer program at the University of St Thomas. Prior to his time in Houston Clerihew was the assistant coach at Yale University. Ian is a 1994 graduate of Seattle Pacific University where he helped the Falcons win a NCAA Division II national championship his senior year.
Clerihew holds a USSF "A" coaching license.
Pablo Reyes joins the Houston Dynamo Academy as a U14’s Assistant Coach. Reyes, a Houston native, began his coaching career as an assistant coach at his alma mater San Jacinto College. Reyes was an assistant for two seasons until he ultimately became the third and final head coach, as the program was terminated in 2018. Upon conclusion, he joined the University of St. Thomas as the men’s assistant coach. Reyes spent the 2017 PDL (USL 2) season as an assistant coach to Houston F.C. In 2015 Reyes received a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Louisiana State University at Alexandria, and in 2018 he earned a master’s degree in Sports and Fitness Administration from the University of Houston.

Leonel has been part of the Houston Dynamo Youth Program since 2016. Originally, from Veracruz, Mexico. He moved to Houston at the age of 10 and played for Sam Houston High School and local club Houstonians FC. Prior to joining the program his passion for soccer led him to help local kids develop their soccer skills and to later pursue his USSF license. He currently holds a USSF ‘C’ License and is working toward the next step in the licensing program.
