DANIEL ROBERTS - Formation Phase Director / U15 Head Coach

Daniel Roberts was a member of the first class of Dynamo Academy players in 2007, joining the Academy in its first months of existence before graduating from Clements High School. The Reading, England native played collegiately at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. He was drafted by the Dynamo in the 2012 MLS Draft and played for the Wilmington Hammerheads in the USL from 2012-14.  Roberts holds USSF's A-Youth, National Youth, and Talent Scout Licenses and currently is the Assistant Coach, for the Houston Dynamo 2. 

 

 

 

 

SHAHAD FARAHANI - U14 HEAD COACH

Shahad Farahani is a graduate of the University of Michigan-Dearborn.  Farahani previously served as coach and Assistant Academy Director with the Michigan Jaguars FC Development Academy. In that role, Farahani led various teams between U14-U19 age groups as well as overseeing various technical aspects and player development programming on and off the field.

As a player, Farahani played as a youth and professional player in Iran and Germany. After his collegiate career at Michigan-Dearborn, he was a member of Moghavemat Tehran FC U21 and Esteghlal Tehran FC U23 teams in Iran. During this time, Farahani was also invited to multiple training camps with Iran Youth National teams (U17 & U19). Additionally, he played as a central midfielder for SC Staaken 1919 in Berlin, Germany prior to starting his coaching career with Michigan Jaguars FC.

Shahad is currently completing his USSF- A Coaching License.

Tanner Chassman - U13 Head Coach

Tanner Chassman serves as head coach for the Under-13 Dynamo Academy team and coordinator for Skill Builder program, utilized throughout both the Foundation and Formation Phases.

Chassman joined the Houston Dynamo FC after graduating  from the College of Charleston in 2019,  and has brought a special focus on the technical side of the game through the Skill Builders program.

Chassman, a Chicago native, grew up playing in the US soccer development academy system for Chicago Magic Academy & IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He has a background in technical skill development, working as a one-to-one skill development coach in Chicago & also as a Coerver coach for Coerver South Carolina. From 2017-2019, he was an undergraduate assistant coach for the Division I men’s soccer program at the College of Charleston.
